How to Join

SCEC is open to anyone that shares our passion for helping children with exceptionalities. Even if you are not majoring in Special Education, we encourage you to be a part of SCEC!

Each event hosted or partnered by SCEC is worth a certain number of points. Collect 15 total points to become an active member of our organization. 

*Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the needed number of points has been reduced to encourage participation and membership.*

How to Join Us for Events:

1. Email SCEC to let us know you want to join. Click here to email us.

2. Complete the Edurisk training in order to work with children. Once you have completed the training, the certificate is good for at least that year. We need to keep a copy of your training certificate. (This can be found on the dashboard at my.bsu.edu)

3. Complete a Criminal Background Check. Once you have completed the check, we will need a copy of the certificate. (This can be found on your my.bsu.edu dashboard. We recommend CastleBranch for this service.)

Bring your two certificates to the next event and you will be all set!
